FLORIDA!!

Well we are on our way home from our quick trip to the beach! We've got about 3 hours to go, hoping to be home by midnight! This is our 3rd year in a row vacationing to FL the same time that my sister that lives in Boston does. We kill two birds with this trip. Beach and family time.. Win, win!!

We left out around 11 Friday morning from Birmingham and arrived in PCB about 6. Trips are just a little longer with a baby and driving during the day! But Graceyn B is becoming quite the traveller and she did very well as always! Of course food and Baby Einstein helped to keep her happy!

My little travel buddy!

She rode by herself in the back almost the whole trip (and shes still rear facing!) When we got about 30 miles out she got fussy, so I rode back there with her and we let the wind blow our hair.. She loves having something blowing in her face/hair. Silliness.

After we got unpacked we ran down to the beach and let Graceyn put her toes in the sand.. She was in heaven!

(Bad pic, but we were actually using a real camera to take pics and I'm doing this from my phone!)

She just ran all over the place smiling and jibbering! She sat down several times and let the waves roll over her, so by the end she was a soaked, sandy mess!

I'll do another post about our vaca sometime this week. Here's a few pics for now..

Ps. We made it home right around midnight :)

Blessed.

Same story, different day

Here it is 2:30am and we are waiting for miss priss to go to bed. We are halfway to Panama City Beach, FL.. Spending the night in Birmingham at my sisters. We left BG around 9 and Graceyn slept the whole way. Now she has been running wild for an hour! I just laid her down.. Crossing my fingers she goes to sleep! More to come from our Florida vaca 2013!

Weekend in LEX

This weekend we went to Lexington for my first class. Since my class starts at 8am on Saturday we drove up Friday night after I got off work. We left around 730 pm, Graceyn normally goes to bed around 8 so we figured we could keep her on her schedule! We checked into our hotel and laid her in the bed and she woke straight up. She looked around trying to figure out where she was and decided she didn't want to be sleeping.
Here she is at 2 a.m.!! She refused to go sleep and nothing we tried would work. Jarrod ran to the Minit Mart and got her some milk and she finally took a bottle (which we don't give her anymore, and we brought just for this type of situation) and went to sleep around 3... We decided she is not ever going with us again - LOL!

I had class from 8-12 and we just discussed how the class would go this semester and some other "housekeeping" things.. We have a HUGE paper that we will be working on throughout the course and I'm nervous about that, we have to get a B on our final draft to pass the class. (And a nursing B is not the same as a regular B, it's an 84 - 91)

So after class I was hoping (and praying) for a nap... Never happened! We decided to go to the horse park.. It was so much fun and G just loved all the horses! (She can sometimes say horse, but mainly she calls them ssss)

Here she is playing with the grass..
Walking with daddy.. He stripped her pants off of her because she was hot.. Lol only in Kentucky!!
And finally petting a horse!

For dinner that night we went to an old time drive in called Parkette.. Best greasy burger ever!! And here's our little cheeser....

We had a wonderful weekend and I have to go back in 3 weeks.. This time without the baby!! Haha.

Blessed.

She's ONE!!

At 5:34 a.m. Graceyn Brielle Evans turned one year old. 365 days ago our world changed for the better. I couldn't imagine a day without her in my life now. Motherhood has been by far the greatest thing I've ever experienced. There were days that I thought I wouldn't survive because she was crying/screaming/refusing to nap. But we made it, and we continue to make it. Each day with her is such a blessing to me and I hope I never take her for granted. I've read several blogs from mothers who have lost their children and my heart just mourns for them. I pray that I can see her grow old and start a family of her own someday. This girl will never know what joy and happiness she has brought to my life!!

We had her birthday party yesterday and she had a blast! Thanks to all of our family and friends for coming!

She loved her cake! We try not to give her anything too sweet, so she thoroughly enjoyed licking all the icing off her hands! (Btw.. My MIL made her pants and I made her shirt!)

We celebrated her real birthday by waking her up and singing happy birthday to her. She wasn't quite sure what to think lol. We had put her present together the night before so it was like Christmas morning for her to walk out of her room and see this...

We tied a bee balloon on it and she was
more excited about the balloon than the toy! Daddy made her pink pancakes for breakfast and we tied balloons to her crib too!

Now we are heading to BG for a fun fall day at Jackson's Orchard! Have a good holiday weekend!!

Blessed.
